At the moment Saturdays are once a month on the following dates.

These are casual classes so you can work on your own projects with my assistance

and the use of classroom supplies.

Classes are only $45 running from 9 till 3 with morning tea provided, BYO lunch.

Our Scenic Sewers Group of the Australian Sewing Guild

meets in the Audrey Room on Friday evenings from 6.30pm

We meet on the second Friday of the month and have just started to meet on the fourth Friday as well. (though our last meet was cancelled due to it being a very, very wet night.)

Annual membership is just $55 for newbies and $44 to renew.

Meetings nights are $5.

Boonah Girl Guides Quilt & Craft Show

Friday March 9 and Saturday March 10

An event not to be missed. The Boonah Guides run this every second year and it's a fabulous day out held in the Cultural Centre of Boonah. Quilt displays and stalls are a must see.

As well as fabulous food and friendly faces.

If you'd like to come along, meet me opposite St Mary's in Beaudesert on Saturday March 10

at 8.15 so we can be there for opening at 9am.

We are going to the 200m heats of the Commonwealth Games.

Not thrilled with our seats, (those orange seats baking in the sun) but they could be worse. Though they are close to Snack Shack if we want to pay over inflated prices for food and water.

But we can say we will be there

Learn To Sew Course

This is a 4 part course introducing you to the wonderful world of sewing.

Saturday May 12

The perfect opportunity to sit all day without interruption, except to eat and chat.

You can come and go any time between 9am and 9pm for $25

Light lunch/dinner is provided

Please bring some yummies to share for nibbles

(This is not a class, but an opportunity to sew or craft, however

I am right there is you need some assistance.


Last year was our inagural Star Party run by the Scenic Rim Astronomy Association.

It was an awesome night of star gazing and related activities.

It's on again this year on Saturday June 16 (if the weather is unsuitable it will be moved to July 14)

This year entry will be by prebooked tickets.

Bra Making by Linda's Lingerie

The lovely Linda lives not so far away and will happily bring her bra making classes

to the Audrey Room.

Minimum numbers (5 students) are required and bookings are essential

as kits and patterns have to be ordered.

Begin your sewing journey, or refresh your skills, with my 4-part Learn to Sew Course.

Wednesdays - May 9, 23, June 6, 20

9.30am till 2pm

*Students MUST be able to attend all lessons.

Due to the structure of the course, catch up lessons are not available.

A $100 deposit is required to secure your place.

This is non-refundable unless the course is cancelled due to insufficient numbers.

*A minimum of 3 students is required or this course to go ahead as scheduled.

Course cost $195 includes tuition, and basic sample kit.

You will need to supply pattern, fabric, and notions as explained during the first lesson. Some notions are available from me.

Morning tea is provided, but please bring your own lunch.

There is a fridge and microwave in the kitchenette.

By sewing a collared pyjama shirt and a pair of boxer shorts you will learn -

- Basic care & use of your sewing machine

- How to choose fabric, needles, threads

- How to choose the correct pattern size, and basic pattern fitting

- How to lay out patterns, mark and cut

- The importance of pressing and accuracy

- Basic stitches, curves & pivots, zippers (sample), overcasting/overlocking

(If you have an overlocker at home, you can use the classroom machine

to save bringing yours too.)

- How to sew seams, hems, buttons, buttonholes, collars, sleeves, and elastic casing

- How to read your pattern instructions

A minimum of 3 students is required for the course to proceed.

Maximum of 6 students to ensure attention.

Suitable for teenagers & adults.

Casual sewing classes are held in the air conditioned Audrey Room of The Old Laravale School. Bring your own project and be guided through the tricky bits in a fun and sharing atmosphere.

You'll need your own sewing machine, project and supplies.

If you need to discuss your project before hand , just give me a call on 0402 309 047, however you may need to leave me a message and I will call you back.

Bookings are necessary for all classes.

Class times are 9 till 3 (but you can be flexible if you need to).
