In October 2015, my husband and I embarked upon a new venture

and purchased a former State School we now call The Old Laravale School.

​

Laravale is about 10 minutes from the centre of Beaudesert, on the road to Rathdowney & Kooralbyn, in the picturesque Scenic Rim Region of SE Qld.

​

Fast forward and we live in a sweet worker's cottage

that we moved to the property.

​

In September 2019, we moved a 113 year old farmhouse

to the former tennis court.

​

We now offer a self contained unique retreat venue for

sewing/craft, training retreats in Willmann House.

Sewing With Wendy - Sewing Classes & Workshops

​

The Audrey Room is a spacious dedicated sewing studio

set up in the former school library.

The sewing room is equipped with a large sewing table, irons,

ironing boards & press, overlocker,

emergency sewing supplies for use during class, and

a small range of sewing supplies available for purchase.

​

​Casual classes held regularly, allow students to bring their own projects

and work on them in a friendly learning atmosphere.

I help with the tricky bits and you have access to

classroom supplies and equipment.

​

All day Sit & Sews are held regularly throughout the year.

These days are the perfect opportunity to sew (or craft)

uninterrupted from 9am till 6pm.

There is no tuition, however I can point you in the

right direction if you get stuck.

Sewing & Craft Retreats at The Old Laravale School

The Old Laravale School is now home to Willmann House,

our relocated farmhouse accommodation for Retreats

- sewing, scrapbooking, card making, wellness,

photography, training sessions,

or whatever you need a relaxing creative space for.

​

Book your own self-catered Retreat for groups of 4 to 9 adults.

Retreat bookings include the use of the Errisvale Rooms

in the former school building.
